Does the Internet allow you to show your work as you would like: How could it be improved to suit you?

The internet is perfect, I show a painting and give the painting tips I learned or used to paint it. I managed to make transparencies of 150 of the 833 paintings I have done so far. 95% of them have been sold already so I can't say I did that good of a job recording them. These paintings are in 4 galleries, starting with:

What kind of artwork do you expect to be doing in the next 12 months or so?

I plan on teaching classes on location here on Maui, since it takes about 3 days to paint a 22x30 landscape I'd guess the class would be about 5 days long, it should cost about $1000. including lodging. It goes like this: We both make a drawing of the same subject, than we switch supports, paint for three hours and switch again. I found I can really teach a lot this way. donjusko@mauigateway.com

Have you found other artists on the Internet like yourself?

I have been keeping a list of artists I feel are great in landscapes, architecture and portraits, their URL's are on my links page. http://www.mauigateway.com/~donjusko/links.htm

What style of art really makes you angry?

Non-objective art doesn't make me angry, it makes me sad in a way. I agree that colorful non-objective art can look great as wallpaper and decorations and photographs can take the place of an accurate painting, but I don't think the art of accurate painting should have to compete with them as fine art.

Do you ever expect to get rich/richer out of art?

No, I'm afraid not. Most of my painting are gone now. At least half of the money went to sales expenses and the other half I could hardly get by on. It's a lot easier just sitting in a studio and making up whatever, I'm sorry to say

Was art your first love or do you have another passion?

Art, always and forever. In the 2 1/2 years it has taken me to put all this up with a computer I have not gotten to paint anything. I have gotten fairly good at tennis though, I take a couple hours off each day to stretch my body.

Who do you feel has influenced art most this century?

The wars undoubtedly. We lost all our great painters and teachers. The end of the last century marked the close of fine art as it was known than. There was also the change in paint composition, it's a lot harder to match natures colors using today's mostly opaque palette. As of today we still don't have a transparent yellow to make a good triad palette in acrylics. The transparent yellows in oil will not do the job completely either.

Which medium do you feel is the current spokesman of the arts?

Well, acrylics will out last oil paints but oils offer more techniques. The end results look exactly the same if your proficient in both.
