Have you found other artists on the Internet like yourself?
I have found so many wonderful artists on the net. I have exchanged views and emails with some of them. I find new ones every day. I like to explore on WWA too. I think I have just hit the tip of the iceburg because the range of mediums is outstanding.
Do you ever expect to get rich/richer out of art?
I never expect to get rich or richer from my art. Would be nice though ;) I paint just because I love it and I really don't like to paint for others. If I paint a picture and someone wants to buy it, then that is great but I hate to do
commission work. I never feel like I paint as well with a deadline. Next year I hope to be more creative and make some great strides in my artistic life. I am reading a book called The Artist's Way and hope it will help me. I guess one reason I never thought I would get rich from my work is that I lack the confidence to believe my work would sell. And I do not promote my work like my husband thinks I should. My dreams always seem to be just around the next corner.
Was art your first love or do you have another passion?
Art has always been my first love and passion. Any type of arts and crafts. I love to try it all (and I think I have). That is why my work is eclectic. I jump from one medium to another. I find something new and I just have to try it. Sculpting, painting, weaving, etc. (I haven't tried computer art yet but I know I will !) - - But I always come back to painting. I have tried airbrushing, oils, acrylics, and dyes. My favorite (as I said) is acrylics or watercolors. I want my work done immediately not next week. I like landscapes the best but have done some
still life. I envy people who paint portraits and would love to have lessons.
What would you like to be better at, and why?
I would like to be better at creating. My creativity seems to have moved to some other dimension. Once I get it back , I think my painting will improve and so will my confidence. I have always lacked confidence. My husband is my most avid fan and believes in me more than I ever could. Maybe "The Artist's Way" and "Vein of Gold" will help me achieve finding my creativity again. I think most of us would like to be better artists because if you can't get better than where is the challenge? People should always grow. In spirit and in mind.
I look forward to a more creative life and to exploring art on the internet.
