What style of art really makes you angry?

I enjoy every style of ART from every century, and I’m an avid
collector. What makes me angry are the people who think that they are
artists just because they can construct a web page. These people would
never be accepted by a gallery or museum. I think that in the future,
every serious artist will show on the internet, and the amateurs will be
weeded out. I believe that since a great deal of good work will be
available, the viewer will be more discerning.

Do you ever expect to get rich/richer out of art?

In the artworld, success is equated with selling power, and I believe
that any artist reading this wants the validation and acceptance that
comes with commercial success. I am in the process of negotiating with
a major NYC gallery for a one-man show. I’ve looked at the figures, and
I’ll do very well financially if the show is successful.

Was art your first love or do you have another passion?

Of course, I love my wife, but Art was, and will remain my first love.

Who do you feel has influenced art most this century?

That’s an interesting question. I believe that the times are the biggest
influence on art, also the major strides in technology have been very
influential. I think that Picasso is the major artist-influence of the
Twentieth Century, but think of it, while he and Brach were inventing
Cubism, they referred to themselves as Wilbur & Orville (Wright).

Which medium do you feel is the current spokesman of the arts?

Even though I am fully digital, and have been for several years, I would
have to say that traditional painting still reigns as king, just look at
any art publication.

What would you like to be better at, and why?

Any artist who thinks that they can never improve, might as well hang it
up. I would like to become better at everything I do.

...Thankyou very much Gary.
