Virtual gallery GUIDES
In-Progress
14/5/97

still in progress 4/5/99!

The story so far:

These characters are
SUPPOSED to represent
members of the community, (well
some of them anyway) that
become virtual guides.
The purpose is to allow visitors to
the gallery the opportunity of
hearing other peoples opinions
as they move around the site.

One other possibility is that of taking on a different identity? To be shown round as if you WERE someone else. We
thought it might be interesting if you could be: Tall,Small, a Child, a Dog, etc.,etc.!

.

We have now got
our first Virtual guide,
Wayne.

Your comments Please.

A sort of 'thats what I thought'
letters page but far more dynamic.

Perhaps YOU might like
to create a character that you feel you could represent and
give us your opinions on what you see in the Virtual Gallery
.

George.
We thought
she should
be an art
critic. The
George John. A
musician a
bit of a
stereotype
John Wayne.
An enthusiastic
design
student
Wayne
purpose being, to look at the
various exhibits from an established art practice' standpoint. Possible picking up on the contemporary aspects that might get overlooked
if your attention is not brought too them.
Presumably there would need to be more than one of these as there are many points of view.

but there you go. A bit of
humour is always welcome don't you think? But what TYPE of musician? I really don't know where to start with
such a vast categorie of people and ideas.

I suppose you have to judge by looks really, but is this sound?

An enthusiastic design
student. If I had a pound for every Wayne I have know! Full of opinions on Art & Design, and not much else. Everything judged against their hero (Neveille Brody etc.).

If you want a passionate opinion
from one point of view, Wayne's
your man.

Jack.
Retired blue
collar worker
perhaps.
Likes
Jack Phil, a
dentist (sorry
I couldn't
resist the
pun).
Phil Sue.
A teacher,
of what
though I
am not sure?
Sue
routines and is methodical.Has an eye for detail and picks up on minor defects, inappropriate typefaces and imagery.
How much he really knows is difficult to assess as most of his opinion is based onlife's experience. Jack would
never miss
the obvious.

You tell me? It
seemed that he would
contribute much.

An obvious
choice of character.
