| Last night Mose Fan Fan and Somo Somo brought the smiling joyous
music of Africa to the park. By the end of the second song the band had
successfully banished the traditional reserved British attitude from the
marquee and replaced it with smiling and dancing which the crowd could
not fail to ignore. The dancers and vocalists of the band were soon
teaching the baying crowd the latest dance moves from the 'dark
continent' as the audience left their seats to join the heaving mass of
bodies around the stage.
The venue came into its own allowing plenty of eye contact and interaction between the crowd and the band, culminating in a euphoric sing-a -long driving the last beads of negativity from their pores and welcoming in the true spirit of the music. However, the carnival atmosphere came to a seemingly abrupt stop to satisfy the council's ridiculous noise level restrictions leaving the audience in a dreamlike state wondering when they had last enjoyed themselves quite that much and when they might again.
