Phil Kay Comedian!
Phil Kay Comedian

Standing in at very short notice for Rich Hall, Phil gave us an insight into his way of thinking! If you haven't seen Phil before, and you must have... the number of times he has been on TV, then I guess you could say he is somewhere between, Billy Connolly and Jerry Sadowitz...on speed!

Phil plays with the audience?
...no-one was safe around Phil.

Before the show I asked Phil about this web documentary that he was now going to be a part of, and waited for the reply...with some trepidation...these comedians aren't always into the tech side of performance...but he was cool about it. He comes across, as many of the wackiest do, as a quiet serious bloke who listens to what people say. His enthusiasm for the project seems genuine and he didn't mind at all that we are using some of his material as an audio stream.
By this time Phil was hyping himself up for the impending show (only about 12mins to go) so I backed off. I had not seen his live show but already I had warmed to this 'madman of comedy'.

Phil is currently doing some work for cable TV and is enjoying that, his numerous TV appearances underline his impending fame,( also warm-up man for Vic& Bob, Shauny's Show ). I guess by this time next year he will be very hard to book.

He hit the stage like a Bull in a china shop...chairs and props becoming launching pads for his lean writhing frame...was this the same guy I had spoken too only 15mins before?

The act was fast and furious, observation comedy at warp factor 6...nothing was safe...particularly Salisbury Hill (yes he does his homework). The backdrops, chairs, audience, everything was fair game...but he was in control, no spilt beer!

We all loved it and the laughter never stopped, you couldn't have heard a pint drop! Phil's ability to ad-lib at this speed is quite extraordinary...and that's great comedy.

Addy Bourg

Addy Bourg

First up for the evening, Addy with a polished performance in the true 'Stand-up Comic' style.

A highly entertaining routine that is bound to launch him as a popular mainstream comic. Even your Gran would like this guy, and the presentation is faultless.
Definitely recommended; see him if you can.

Addy plays on his appearance and lack of mechanical skill in his routine. The sort of bloke who knows his car has an engine, so he learned a few words about it.
In addition he says:" I like to play on the Jesus look but I got a bit carried away...I even have the Jewish nose."

If you own a Club...Book Him!

Compare 'Peewee'

As if that wasn't enough comedy for £8(pounds) Top Fez compare 'Peewee' played the spaces...and if you think that a compare is the bloke who gives an introduction and hands over a microphone, then you haven't seen, Peewee. He is a full act in himself, and can he play the audience! I would have been happy to see him all evening...as the only act, I don't think anyone would have complained.

We were all spoiled, three great acts for £8...
