This ray trace was used to demonstrate the virtues of 'Stand alone disks'. These were multimedia marketing advertising disks. The animation set about showing the saving of TREES and the re-usability of digital media. The whole self running program and 30 animated images fitted onto a single 1.44 floppy disk! All at 640x480 ppi. That was before Photoshop images at 100MB each? It's funny how the WWW. demands those high compression images with clever palettes. Maybe all that time wasn't wasted after all. For those with Polyray, or those who want to have a go at Raytracing I have included the code for this image (or at least very similar as I can't find the original) . You can mess about with the co-ordinates or the view angle and make something better. If you do I would love to see the results. The page is LONG so if you print it out make sure you feed your printer.

Most of the code was put in by hand from EDITOR in DOS. Anyone still remember DOS? PBG '97
